Ms.
Lalita D. Gupte, Joint Managing Director,
is heading the International Business Group. The
primary task of the International Business Group
is to develop and implement the global components
of ICICI Bank's Universal Banking strategy and seek
opportunities in related areas such as Business
Process Outsourcing. |

| As head of this
group, Ms.Gupte is responsible for the Bank's international
businesses in the retail, corporate and technology
areas and for the international alliances required
for the domestic businesses. She is also the focal
point for all international relationships, which
would be channeled through this group. |

| Ms.Gupte joined
ICICI Limited in the year 1971 in the project appraisal
division. She was appointed the Assistant General
Manger in the year 1986 incharge of the leasing
division of ICICI. In 1990, she was promoted as
a General Manager of ICICI and was responsible for
the Planning and Resources Department of ICICI.
In 1993, as a Chief General Manager she was made
in charge of the Mumbai Zonal Office. In 1994, she
was elevated to the ICICI Board as Executive Director
and was appointed the Joint Managing Director and
Chief Operating Officer in the year 1999. |

| Ms.Gupte was the
first Indian lady to be on the Fortune 50 list of
most powerful women in the world. She was ranked
31st in the world list of Fortune. She was also
given the "The Woman of the Year Award"
for 2002 presented by the International Women's
Association for her achievements in the corporate
world. |

| Ms. Gupte holds
a Bachelor's Degree in Economics (Hons.) and has
done her Management from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute
of Management Studies, Mumbai. |
