Mr. Farrukh Abbas has over 19 years of experience
with multinationals, covering areas of strategy,
turnarounds, business development, distribution networks and brand building, primarily in Asia Pacific,
West Asia and the Middle East region. At Abraaj, he
is responsible for developing, driving and implementing
the post acquisition strategy of value creation at the
Abraaj portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Abraaj, Mr. Abbas was General Manager
of the Coca-Cola Company in Malaysia, a business
which was successfully turned around from heavy
losses to sustained profitability. Between 1997 and
2001, he was with the Coca-Cola Company heading
brand marketing & sales operations for Malaysia and
South West Asia (Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh,
Nepal), responsible for building the consumer franchise
& sales distribution networks. From 1989 to 1996, Mr.
Abbas was with UniLever in several business units
responsible for portfolio growth & profitability. In 1995,
UniLever acquired the Brooke Bond tea business in
Pakistan and he was tasked with restructuring the
combined business for synergies. Mr. Abbas started
his professional career in 1986 with ICI.
Mr. Abbas holds a Bachelor of Science degree with
a focus in marketing & management from Quincy
College, Illinois, USA. |
